1. How do you decide what music to play at a given event?
I furnish my clients with a song list so they can highlight their requests. Clients can take as active a role as desired when requesting music for their event. Though the client requests have the highest priority, I also take requests from the guests as long as they fall within the parameters established by my client. I am usually asked to contribute to the music programming as well since I have experience entertaining diverse groups of people. This blend of input allows me to get a feeling for what the people want to hear and program the music to that their is a balanced mix.
2. Can we bring CD's from home for you to play?
In most cases, we either have or can obtain all of the songs desired by our clients. In the rare instances that this is not the case, we would be happy to play music furnished by the client as we realize that musical tastes are very personal and we do everything we can to personalize the event for them.
3. Do your DJs take any breaks during the event?
Our DJs play music beginning with the arrival of the first guest straight through the final dance. The only stoppage of music is for presentation purposes.
4. What do your DJs wear when they DJ?
They dress accordingly to the type of event they are working at. Whether it's a tuxedo, coat & tie, or jeans and a polo, we always discuss with our clients what their preferences would be so that we reflect their wishes.
5. What types of music do you have in your music library?
All of the popular genres of music from the 1930's through today's Top40 can be found within our library. With over 35,000 song titles to pick from, including lots of International music, the library is very well balanced. Anything available from local music retailers is also at your disposal as we are willing to purchase any music our client requires as long as it is carried in stock and it is within a reasonable range.
6. Do you carry backup equipment?
Though an equipment failure has never occurred, we are prepared as each sound system includes 4 CD players, 4 speakers, 3 amplifiers, 4 microphones and extra connection cables. With this configuration of equipment we can rewire the system should something out of the ordinary happen. The highest quality equipment along with well thought out planning virtually eliminates the chance of an equipment failure.
7. Do your DJs act as master of ceremonies in addition to playing music?
We sure do. As a full service company, we are accustomed to conducting these duties in an articulate manner that makes for a professional presentation. In instances where a good percentage of the guests do not understand English, a family member, friend, or co-worker can serve as an interpreter or the master of ceremonies depending on the wishes of the client. DJ Tomix can lead any event in English, Hungarian or Slovak language.
8. Does DJ Tomix Entertainment use a written contract?
Yes. All important details are spelled out in an easy to read contract so that both parties have a full understanding of the agreement being entered into.
9. Is DJ Tomix Entertainment licensed and insured?
Yes. We are licensed and carry $1,000,000 in liability insurance. More and more venues are requiring DJ's to have insurance before they are allowed on the premises.
10. Why should we hire a DJ from DJ Tomix Enetertainment?
Because we are true professionals with a passion for being an industry leader rather than simply meeting the definition of "professional" as one that receives financial compensation in exchange for a service. Anyone with a basic sound system and a few CD's can legally go into business and be labeled as a "professional disc jockey". If we were all the same, you would have skipped this section and just called me in your search for the lowest price. Our DJs have the experience, music, equipment, and the passion to turn events into celebrations of life. While some of what we provide is instantly recognized, much of it would only be recognized if it were not provided. Above average planning for smoother presentations, outstanding sound systems for more enjoyable listening and dancing, larger music library to be able to please very diverse requests, and customer service that is second to none for complete peace of mind are just a few ways that we go above and beyond the mere definition of "professional". Many of the events we do are celebrations of some type and are filled with emotion. 11. What is your alcohol consuming an smoking policy?
It is very simple. Absolutely NO ALCOHOL consumption or smoking is allowed to the DJ during any event! There are no exceptions !
12. Do you charge extra for travel?
If your event is within 50 miles from our office location (Fairfax,VA) we do not charge extra for travel. If it is more then 50 miles, we might charge a small fee to cover the extra expense. If this is your case, you will be notified before signing our contract. There are no hidden charges!
13. Do you have a generator for outside events with no power source?
No, unfortunately we do not. It is your responsibility to check the location whether they have a power source for the DJ or not.
14. What type of equipment do you use?

Backup gear is mounted in the system or carried on site just in case the need for it should ever arise. The result is extremely clear and accurate sound that makes low volume listening far more intelligible and a dance floor that has an extra element of energy without causing listener fatigue.

While the sound systems of many DJ's merely meet the minimal definition of the word, DJ Tomix Entertainment gear ranks as the highest quality gear available to mobile DJ's. Below is a list of DJ Tomix Entertainment's audio gear for you to print out and take to any professional audio dealer of your choice for their unbiased opinion. Just remember to go to a store that sells equipment for bands and DJ's like Guitar Center or Washington Music Center. Equipment used by DJ's is far different than home stereo equipment and chances are slim that a salesperson at a home stereo retailer will know anything about DJ equipment.
